Fragment d’une Continuation de la Chanson de Jérusalem

Abstract : The passage contained in this fragment of the Continuation de la Chanson de Jérusalem is situated just after the poisoning of Godefroi de Bouillon by the patriarch Éracle and Tangré de Pouille ; the text was reworked in detail in comparison to the two known manuscripts of the chanson, even though the content remained stable. Copied in the north of the oïl area, it allows us to study the origin and evolution of the expression “si j’étais que de vous” for which it provides a determinant step.
