Abnormal operation diagnosis in human - Machine systems

Résumé

The paper deals with the problem of abnormal operation diagnosis in human-machine systems. The abnormal operation is considered as the deviation from the ordered operation. This deviation is not absolutely unexpected; it may be predicted in principle but to cause an adequate reaction it should be firstly detected and isolated. The human-machine systems operation is modeled using nondeterministic discrete-event formalism. An extension of pair algebra of partitions to nondeterministic finite state machines is used to develop the designing method for the diagnostic scheme. Possibilities of the proposed method are investigated and discussed. An illustrative example is provided based on tramway driving situation.
