Difficultés d’implémentation du Lean Manufacturing dans les Petites et Moyennes Entreprises

Abstract : This article explores the difficulties to implement Lean manufacturing practices in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). From the analysis of scientist papers, a set of difficulties appears between the SMEs characteristics and the Lean manufacturing management principles. Among the most important elements, we can find the lack of functional organization, methods and formal procedure which create difficulties when SMEs launch Lean manufacturing initiatives. The literature also underlines the importance of the expertise, the decision-making ability and the leadership of the lean management team in the change management process
