A dynamic model of behaviour of short-fibre-reinforced thermoplastics taking into account the natural variability of constitutive, geometrical and mechanical properties of vegetal fibres

Abstract : This work presents the modelling of mechanical behaviour of short-vegetal-fibre-reinforced thermoplastics (SVFRT). The complex properties of thermoplastic matrix behaviour (viscoelasticity and viscoplasticity, e.g.) and distributions of fibre orientation, typical of injection-moulded composites and responsible for anisotropic behaviour, can be modelled. In addition, the natural variability of constitutive, geometrical and mechanical properties of vegetal fibres in the prediction of SVFRT mechanical response can also be taken into account.
