Évaluation de l’équilibre statique et des paramètres locomoteurs chez des patients avant et après prothèse totale de genou : une étude pilote

Abstract : Objective Our objective was to analyze the feasibility and the need for the assessment of postural and locomotor capacities of patients before and after total knee arthroplasty, as well as the relationship between functionality and postural change. Methods The assessment was divided in three times: one in pre-operative (T1), two in post-operative (T2, T3). Data were collected on 9 subjects by means of a baropodometric treadmill and self-administered questionnaires. Results Refusal/exclusion rate amount to 95 %. The main reason for refusal was the distance between home and the rehabilitation center. Only the walking cadence increased significantly between T1 and T3. The medial load on the operated side during walking increased in relationship to the functional score. Simultaneously, those improved between T1 and T3. Discussion and conclusion The low participation rate is a barrier to other studies. The use of wearable technologies could compensate the main reason for refusal. None posturographic parameter evolved in the two months following arthroplasty. There were few relationships between functional score change and posturographic parameter change. Level of evidence 3.
