Contribution méthodologique à la thanatomécanique et à la thanatométrologie

Abstract : Cadaver experiments underlay research in impact biomechanics since the Seventies. This work was performed as a contribution to this field for the following topics : - Bodies’ preservation and conditioning. The objective is, on one hand to propose preservation techniques in order to limit the tissue degradation (e.g. antibiotic injection), on the other hand to recondition the subjects in order to correct some post-mortem phenomena resulting in a lack of anatomofidelity. - Bodies’ instrumentation. Techniques, either through improvements, or through original developments, allow acquiring internal and external measurements as reliable as possible during cadaver tests. - Biomechanical autopsy. Historically performed by pathologists, the autopsy needs, today, to be specifically adapted to impact biomechanics. Its systematization and its logic intend to fit to the experimental conditions (Indian ink injection, instrumentation, measurement, loading types). Results obtained through this approach allow proposing an overview of cadaver experiments.
