Essai de compression-translation : contribution à l'identification des lois de comportement surfaciques et volumiques

Abstract : Surface behaviour of coated steel workpieces is analysed via the upsetting-sliding test. The test involves an indenter which comes in contact with the specimen until a given penetration is reached (upsetting phase), then it creates a plastic zone localized to the specimen surface vicinity by sliding along one of its generator line (sliding phase). The identification of reliable friction laws relies on the simulation of realistic contact and friction conditions first, and determination of the accurate bulk behaviour law in the vicinity of the contact zone second. Then an analysis of the test involving the finite element mothed is carried out and lead to the determination of an optimum indenteur geometry and penetration ; the test reproduces contact pressures and effective plastic strains in agreement with true contact conditions. A analysis of the upsetting phase of the test based on the minimisation of the error between experimental an numerical results is then achieved to identify the bulk behaviour in the contact surface vicinity. Finally a mechanical analysis coupled to a finite element model of the sliding phase of the test lead to the identification of linear and non linear friction laws. The proposed strategy is applied to cylindrical 1522 annealed steel specimen coated with zinc phosphate stearate and mineral salt settlings.
