Caractérisations tribologique et thermomécanique de revêtements céramiques élaborés par projection thermique plasma : application aux disques de freinage ferroviaire a haute énergie

Abstract : Energy that must be dissipated in braking for especially high-speed TGV trains increases so much that a simple extrapolation of existing systems will be insufficient for materials to come ; Friction materials of current brake discs should support too high frictional anf thermomechanical stresses. So both disc and pad need to be fundamentally reconsidered. Present work consists in working out plasma sprayed ceramic or cernet coatings on disc in order to adjust surface characteristics to frictional conditions while limiting heat flow propagation toward the axle.
