Le texte littéraire à l'épreuve du rythme : Réflexion littéraire et traductologique sur le processus de subjectivation dans le langage

Abstract : The present synthesis takes up the three parts of Henri Meschonnic's theory of translation: the Poetics, the Ethics and the Politics of Translation. In the first section ("What the Poetics does to the translator"), the content is mainly concerned with literary issues, the aim being to analyse the notions of "catharsis" and "maximum subjectivation"; this analytical exercise has made it possible to establish a relationship between the two notions and to contribute to the clarification of the Aristotelian definition, which is often understood in terms of the twin notions of "fear and pity". In the second section ("What Ethics does to the translator"), the content is mainly concerned with ethical issues, the aim being to examine the process of subjectivation at work in Elfriede Jelinek's translational writing and in my own translation of Henri Meschonnic's "Ethics and politics of translation". In the third section ("What Politics does to the translator"), the contents are concerned with questions of politics, its purpose being to examine the question of absolute solidarity of the translator's with the speaking subject.
