In Après vous (2010), Pierre Alferi stages a precarious community, the laws of the Market and experimenting alternative economies. Although rarely named, money is omnipresent - either by its lack (c.f. the squatters) or its deliberated rejection (c.f. the protagonist Ben), or by its power to destroy the social fabric by murders and kidnappings. Exceeding the detective genre declared on the front cover, this novel has recourse to the neutrality of the investigator to short-circuit any pathos or any utopian idealism and, by the rhetoric of the "deffect", imposes to the reader the reflexive urgency of a philosophico-economic fiction on the necessary exit from a capitalistic system submitted to the quite-monetary
